The Health Reform bill that just passed includes a change in the rate of CNM reimbursement from 65 percent to 100 percent in Part B of the fee schedule under Medicare. This is a 53.8 percent increase in payment for CNM services! This success culminates ACNM and the "Midwives-PAC" efforts begun in 1989! Over the coming years we will work for more recognition of CMs in relation to Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.
